Roosevelt Ancient Cedar Grove
This sign is in the parking lot
See beautiful waterfalls and the oldest trees in the area. These trees average 800 years old and many are 2,000 years old. Very nice hiking loops have been developed here with one viewpoint that hangs you out over the falls. About 3 miles of hiking here.
Go north on Hwy2 all the way to Newport and then continue on Hwy2 over the bridge to Idaho and on to Priest River, taking the left turn at the stoplight upon entering the city onto Hwy57 north. Stay on this and do not go to Coolin, but stay on the west side of the lake all the way to Nordman. About 14 miles after Nordman you will see a "Y" in the road, and a large sign for Stagger Inn which is a campground and parking lot for this hike.
Contact the Priest Lake Ranger District to be sure the road is open: 208-443-2512
I didn't see any sign prohibiting mtbikes, but it made sense with so many people on the trail.
