The tents below the green mountains
This is an annual fair in the center of Chewelah's downtown that has the most lovely feelings about it. The Chataqua has grown over the years to a major Washington State festival event. Thousands of people come from all over to enjoy arts and crafts, stage events, and fabulous food like the Indian Tacos on Indian fry bread. It takes place in the middle of July each summer. It is a free four day event.

From Spokane take Division to Hwy 395 up to Chewelah which is only about 45 miles away. It is only about 50 miles from the Canadian border, but for that bring your passport.
Be sure to bring your children or they will never forgive you.
